Descriptions of these programs both those administered by the Higher Education Unit and those whom the Unit supports are provided below. The Unit also develops new programs to enhance the GSFC research and engineering missions through increased contact with the college and university community. The Unit's programs deal with students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, faculty members, researchers, and in some cases, the teachers of teachers. The Unit also hosts the on-line intern application process that serves the Unit's student internships, the Office of Education's Elementary and Secondary Unit's high school internship programs, and some of the higher education programs run by other organizations at GSFC.
