Eyes on the Sky 2007

7 pm, Scheduled Thursday and Tuesday Evenings, Feb 15 - May 1, 2007

NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and the University of Maryland invite students, faculty and science lovers from all walks of life to the third exciting season of Eyes on the Sky. Join us as we continue to decode Einstein's Universe, to understand the evolution and dynamics of the world we inhabit, and to eye ones beyond.

The lectures will be held at the University of Maryland, College Park Physics Lecture Hall 1412.

Refreshments and informal interaction with speakers will follow the lecture. Appropriate for high school/college level and above.

Upcoming Lecture:

The last lecture "Who Left the Freezer Door Open?" will be given by Robert Bindschadler at 7 PM on Tuesday, May 1. Please note that this lecture will be held at the University of Maryland, College Park Phyiscs Lecture Hall Room 1412.

From Beltway Exit 25 south 1.9 miles on Route 1, right at light on Campus Drive, proceed one long block and bear right at the "BIG M" traffic circle. Lecture Halls are 100 meters on right. For a map, please click here: Event Directions and Garage Parking Map .

Free parking is available **ON ALL FLOORS** of the Regents Drive Garage, across the street from the Physics Lecture Halls. *Please DO NOT* park on metered spots or on spots that say State Vehicle Only. Parking is also available in nearby surface lots that designate free parking after 4:00 PM. For these surface lots, see the interactive parking map of the campus here Alternate Parking

Getting there by Metro:

The Physics department is accessible by metro. Take the green line to College Park Metro Station. Ride the UM Shuttle free to and from campus. Shuttle makes a stop right at the Physics Building and runs every ten minutes before the lecture, every twenty after, till at least midnight.

Volunteers Needed:

We are looking for volunteers to help us with spreading the word about the program in the community as well as logistics on the evening of the lectures right before the talk from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. If you would like to get involved with the program, get community service hours, would like a pizza dinner, please contact Lubna Rana at LRana@pop600.gsfc.nasa.gov as soon as possible.
