Achieving Competence in Computing, Engineering, and Space Science

Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate or graduate student, majoring in a technical field (i.e. computer science, engineering, mathematics, physical sciences); B average; US citizen; enrolled in a four-year accredited institution or in graduate school

Description: ACCESS (Achieving Competence in Computing, Engineering, and Space Science) is a 10-week paid internship program at NASA centers around the United States. It is designed for undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities who have strong backgrounds in science and a desire to pursue technical careers. Students will work with scientists and engineers in an area compatible with their skills and interests. This is a chance to apply academic skills in the workplace and obtain practical professional experience.

Duration: 10 Weeks

Locations: Internships will be located at several NASA centers around the country. In addition to offering competitive stipends, there is a provision for assistive technology and other reasonable work site accommodations needed by the student to be a fully productive member of the technology team. Limited travel funds and recommendations for finding accessible housing and transportation will be offered.

  • Current resume
