Eligibility: Ph.D., Sc.D., or other earned doctoral degree. U.S. citizen,
U.S. permanent resident, or citizen of any country not at arms with the US.
Description: The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) provides talented
postdoctoral scientist and engineers with valuable opportunities to engage in
ongoing NASA research programs and serves as a source of talent to ensure the
continued quality of the NASA research workforce. The (NPP) supports each of
NASA’s four Mission Directorates: the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate,
the Exploration Systems Mission Directorate, the Science Mission Directorate,
and the Space Operations Mission Directorate. The (NPP) consists of two components:
the NASA Postdoctoral Research Program and the NASA Postdoctoral Management
Program is an adjunct to the NASA Postdoctoral Research Program and is designed
to provide valuable research management experience for some of the Research
Program Fellows. The NPP is administered for NASA by the Oak Ridge Associated
Universities. Participants with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation

Duration: Typically 2 to 3 years.
Dates: Year-round entry and exit.
Application Deadline: Research proposals and supporting documents
must be postmarked by March 1, July 1, or November 1. The Space Sciences and
Exploration Directorate encourages the use of November 1 deadline.
Other: Associates must devote their full-time effort to the research
programs proposed in their applications. Associates must be in residence during
the entire period of the associateship. No additional monetary aid or other
remuneration may be accepted from another appointment, fellowship, or similar
grant, except for sabbatical leave.
